97 GMC Sierra don’t blow out of front vents. Blows fine out of defrost and floor. I blew some of the dust out of the actuator springs and wiped the gunk out. Then turned the dial to a new position and heard the baffle pop like it switched. It seemed to be functioning correctly but just didn’t blow out the front. For the halibut I pulled the fuse and put it back. then the A/C blower did work at all. I turned the dial a bit, waited a few minutes and it auto-magically started blowing out the front.

The delay in the blower starting must be something with removing the fuse and reseating. But the question is with the baffle. Anyone know a way to push it to the front vents in case it sticks again? I don’t want to have to remove the dash. Also, maybe it those actuator springs/arms need replaced. Too afraid to turn the dial, I’m sure the kids will turn the dial or me when the glass fogs up;-) . I could tape the dial to not move, but what kind of crap is that….?

you would have to look under the dash to find the either vacuum operated or
electric actuator and test from there

I’m guessing that you reset the BCM when you pulled the fuse, if this is the case they you probably have nothing to worry about because you have already confirmed that the motor works it seems you’re original problem was with the control. In short don’t create a problem where there isn’t one.
