Greetings! I got a 97 Ford Escort that has 110K miles on it. I did a brake fluid flush since it was around 45K miles since its last brake fluid change. The pads were recently changed so I didn’t remove the brake pads. The brake was working fine before the flush! I did the flush from the closest wheels to the furtherest. Front wheels were disc brakes and rear wheel were drum brakes. the problems I have now its I can floor the brake and it will have the tiniest amount of braking when it is completely floored. The brake feels firm and normal when the engine is turn off but almost no resistence when the vehicle is turned on. If i turned off the vehicle after it was turned on, the first press on the brake will be very mushy and light, but the resistence very quickly build up again. Couldn’t find anything that is like this case.
I am not confident that the system is completely air free (the bleeder valve is odd size and short couldn’t find any tubing that will fit very securely and some air might got in) , but I am not sure if that is the cause. I think I used the correct fluid (DOT 3). I did a fluid change for my 2013 toyota rav4 but didn’t encounter any problems. Anything I should try?
