I am trying to do the timing belt on the 97 civic and cannot get the crank loose. I borrowed a friends compressor and the bolt is still stuck he has a Cornwall 1/2 impact wrench. I am thinking about buying a bigger impact wrench to get the nut off was wondering if I should get electric or air? If Air what size should I get?
I have tried just about everything also open to other suggestions?

      Impact wrench
      Breaker bar
      Heat gun
High lift jack on the breaker bar

There is a heavy walled socket available to remove the crank bolt.

There is also a holding tool.

Soak the bolt in the penetrating oil of of your choice. (I like CRC-Freeze off, but your milage may vary) Then using the crank holding tool, use the biggest impact you can get your hands on. Ive used the Milwaukee Cordless 2767 without any issue as well as an air IR gun (forgot the model but it was at least 700 ft/lbs). This bolt is the key to any timing belt job and Im pretty sure all the videos say Get this loosened before you start any other part of the job.

I would get a 4ft peice of chainlink fence post and put it over the end of youre rachet or breaker bar u wont have to appply much presure to break the nut free
