Hello everyone, I acquired a 1996 Suzuki Baleno. It has a 1.6 gasoline engine, manual transmission. It is still in the mechanic and I haven’t seen it yet. The Speed sensor that goes in transmission has gone bad and since I live in Paraguay, south America, it’s hard to get the replacement, the dealership doesn’t have it and they really don’t care much about helping you since their business is in newer cars. The previous owner of the car (which is my uncle) told me that he bought the part and got it shipped here but it was the wrong part and it wouldn’t work. The car starts but after about 24 hours the ECU locks the engine and it won’t start as a security measure, unless the computer is reset, but then it would lock again, at least that’s what they told me.
So my question is does someone know where I can buy the part online and have it ship here? Is there a way to fix the sensor somehow? Is there another option such as discard the electronic injection system and put a carburetor on the engine or put a whole new (old) carbureted engine? What other option do I have?
