      Howdy,
I fixed the issue with the fuel economy, 3 plugs were worn almost out, and there was a vacuum leak from the PCV elbow.
Now the problem is I can hear another leak, but I can’t find it. Anyone know how much vacuum the intake should have at idle? I also need a vacuum diagram for the evap and PCV system if anyone has those.
      Thanks,
      Clay

Diagram was perfect! Thanks for that.
Next question: the vacuum gauge I have has little areas of operation, green for healthy engine, red for late valve timing, orange for ignition timing. Are these areas accurate? My explorer fluctuates between healthy engine and ignition timing, but I think it’s computer controlled, isn’t it? So could I be looking at a bad crank position sensor or is my gauge just giving a worst case/general/inaccurate description?

I would stay with the numbers not colors. Vacuum is not computer controlled. We are only concerned
            with vacuum. 🙂

In that case then, what would cause fluctuating vacuum? I’m not exactly sure of the numbers, between 19-17 I think?
I think my MAF sensor is faulty, could that be the cause of the fluctuating idle/vacuum?

See if this explains engine vacuum a little better.

If I’m being honest, it didn’t say anything that surprised me, but I definitely understand a little better now maybe.
