      Good Evening,

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram and after the truck was sitting a while, I wanted to get the suspension checked out. I pulled the wheel off and everything thing is tight, the Ball joint boots are torn but the ball joints are still solid, the Outer tie rod on the passenger side boot is intact and the tie rod has no play. Any thoughts on the safety of the parts or how to know when to replace them.

Eric if you could possible do a quick tip video on this that would be great, I know you did a cars the sit video, but I was looking for a tie rod and ball joint testing tips video.

      Thank You

      David L.

When Eric did his fairmont video with the inspection of he showed how to check a tie rod end. So you should look that one up. However if you looking just for a video about the end themselves I would recommend a good friend of Eric’s video which ill link here in this post

If the boot is gone the part very shortly will be gone too. Sometimes, boots are replaceable. Anyway, it might be worth checking if they are. Otherwise replace.
