So i cant figure why my passenger side is sagging…i have changed, shocks, springs, lcas, upper lcas and soon trailing arm bushings. I did all those because it needed to be done. But before then the sag was there, and now after all i have done its still there. Can it be a bent trailing arm? I am at a loss here. Need some input so i can finish the car before the first real cold.

      Thanks!!

One pic is drivers the other is the passenger.

The vehicle from the photo looks like the springs used on that side are way too short..

Has the body on that side been sitting that low as long as you have had the car? If not what was done to the car at the time you noticed the body drop ( like an accident repair on that corner of the car.)

At a guess, it looks to me like the car has been in an accident and very badly repaired and the upper shock./spring mounting points are completely out of alignment (too high) in relation to the other side of the vehicle. But without checking out your rear suspension and the body mounting points it is hard to say.

Thanks for the reply, the shocks were replaced by me with good equal size OEM springs. All i can tell you all the body on that well had was some honda rust which i patched up. When i got it it was not sagging…it started to sag a bit…then i did all the work i mentioned…and it sagged still. I see no disturbance under the car were i can see a repair was done…the body seems to be original, no bondo or cut and welded marks. Can it be the trailing arm bushings? Ir the arm itself?

You aren’t carrying your mother-in-law in the trunk, are you?

If that corner of the car isn’t overloaded, then the spring isn’t doing its job supporting the vehicle’s weight.

It did that with the original spring set up…it was a mess. So i installed new shocks and good working springs.

My Buck Rogers Decoder Ring isn’t working. In your original post you mention “lcas” and “upper lcas”. What are they?

Are the replacement springs brand new, or are they salvage yard picks?

Are there supposed to be any rubber mounting cushions on the top and/or bottom of the coil springs?

Off my integra, they were doing just fine on the integra, plus the ones that were on also sagged on that side prior to the change out.

Using an Acura to keep a Civic on the road…geeze.

Do you know for sure if there are supposed to be rubber mounting cushions on the coils? They may have rotted off the original springs, and you may not be aware of their existence.

All these parts were present in the rebuild.

The trailing arm bushing looks like it could produce this condition if it’s well and truley shot. I wouldn’t be concerned about the trailing arm being bent. It looks like a pretty substantial casting, and if you ever whacked it hard enough to bend it, there’d be far more damage to the chassis than to the arm itself.

By the way, I’ve seen some diagrams that include a stabilizer bar. Does your Civic have one?
