Hello, I am hoping that I didn’t F up bad and i am hoping that I can fix this issue.
I bought a 95 honda accord on Craigslist and when I inspected it I checked everything that I could think of. The car runs great and drove great, want burning oil or coolant, everything seemed great. I didn’t take the car to a mechanic at any time and neglected the bulb check. Little did I know that the check engine light and the srs lights were removed from the cluster. Once i noticed i replaced the bulbs and sure enough, both lights are on. I pulled the codes and the check engine light I’m not worried about, however the code on the srs light flashed 10-1. I believe that means the airbags have been deployed. I’m not that worried if the car has been wrecked before, there doesn’t appear to be any serious damage to the structure of the car. The car appears to have airbags now that are not deployed. I tried to clear the code with the battery cable but the light came back on. Is it possible to turn the light off without removing the bulb?
      Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If the seat belt restraint or air bag has been deployed you won’t be able to reset the light
until the problem has been fixed.

Thanks college man, I know that the bags have been replaced, I am sure the seat belts were tensioned, I don’t know if they were replaced or not. Does anyone know what I need to check before I take it to Honda?

Unless this is a pure computer/electrical gremlin, the system is behaving as if it’s telling you that the car has been in an accident. As far as I know, if the seat belts have taken that kind of force, they should be replaced for safety reasons. I also believe that the seatbelt emergency tensioners need to be replaced, because they are a “1 shot” deal. If the tensioners haven’t been replaced, I don’t think you’ll ever get the light to go out, and you are putting yourself in danger should the airbags ever get deployed again.

Thanks evil-i. I was worried more about getting a commute car, I made a huge mistake. All I want to do is make it safer. I have been doing a lot of research on the srs system in a car, I learned a lot, but am not really closer to a solution from that. Does anybody have like a checklist of sorts about what to check after a crash?

Neverending this request I found what I was looking for but I was wondering if anyone knows if the locations of the cars specific srs components are located would be in my Haynes manual?
I am not at home now and cannot check it.

Thanks again for all the help.
