Could be the idle air control valve. I just did one of those on my 92 Toyota pickup that was having similar problems. A few of the other guys on here helped me diagnose it. The IAC basically takes the place of the choke and adjusts how much air bypasses the butterfly valve in the throttle body so that the engine can idle properly. The throttle body on my truck had an idle set screw that I took out, cleaned and readjusted before replacing the IAC and that helped out some. If it goes away after a few minutes (once the engine comes up to temperature) there’s a good chance the IAC could be stuck wide open.

I strongly advise against replacing the fuel pump, especially if you haven’t checked the fuel pressure. Honda fuel pumps rarely fail, and the aftermarket replacements are not up to par compared to OE. In fact, that would be a step backward in my opinion. That said, you didn’t mention checking for vacuum leaks which would be an important step. Additional information can be found in this article.

it was not the fuel pump, replaced it, nothing changed, i personally think the promblem is a clogged catayltic converter, but i really have no idea other then the internets, myb father in law and honda guy think its some valve, but i do hear a lawn mower type sound when the car acts up where the catylitic converter should be , i dont know honestly, still love the car though

The article I posted for you shows how to check for an exhaust restriction. It also covers many possible causes of a problem like this and how to find and repair it.
