94 ford ranger 4.0 4×4 5 speed
i was having some issues a few weeks ago with my ranger, it was not ideling. found the problem to be the idle air control valve. i clean the iacv and problem seemed to be fixed. yesterday same problem but now the engine wont rev. i pulled the trouble codes number 57 and 58.
i changed the iacv now it idles as it should but still has the intermittent issue of it not wanting to rev. i then changed the throttle position censor and same issue. but now after resting the computer i have code 57 (key on engine off)
all wireing has been inspected and tested. fuel pressure is within spec, spark plugs and wires are fine. changed them last year but still inspected them.when driving and it starts acting up (not revving)it sounds like its misfiring on multiple cylingers, and a strong smell of unburnt fuel. push in the clutch let off the throttle and it wants to idle, with clutch still in it wont rev. clutch out same thing idles but wont rev.
at this point i am at loss and not sure where to start next, any help would be greatly appreciated.
*update key on engine ON codes 41, 25, 38
* key on engine OFF 57
