Probably something with the ignition system, such as cracked plug wires or a cracked distributor cap that is causing the spark to jump to ground because of the moisture instead of jumping the gap at the plugs. Eric has a video about checking for Ignition Voltage Leaks that you should watch, it should help ya out. Lets us know how it goes

Rice400 is exactly right and that is a common issue with Chevy vehicles, particularly SUV’s and trucks.
Wore out points in the distributor cap also. Good tune up, new wires plugs and cap, you’ll be good to go!

I don’t believe they used points and condensers in the 90’s.
I’ve never seen them on any of the 80’s or 90’s vehicles i have worked on.I’ve seen this many times with older GM trucks.
Probably could use a new cap and rotor and maybe wires too if they have not been replaced in a long time.I’m also on board with checking the ignition system, here is the video that rice400 was referring to.
