No start. Replaced relay it ran for a few weeks and died again well now I checked the voltage at the fuel pump connector and I have power and if I smack the fuel tank the pump will prime so I’m guessing the fuel pumps faulty. Its my sisters car and she drives it around on empty all the time…ugh.

So is Denso a decent choice for fuel pump for these hondas? I would like to go oem but she can’t afford it and I don’t want to buy those cheap parts from the auto store I know denso is OEM for a few manufacturers and rock Auto has it for like 75 bucks. Delphi as well

The denso is the best choice. If the pump runs with banging on it
and the connections are good and 12v is being supplied it does sound
        like a pump.

Agreed ^ P.S. Fuel pumps don’t like being run low. Fuel is actually used as a lubrication for the fuel pump.

Yeaaaa. I know. I guess I was looking for extra motivation to do this job. I’m more of a Chevy guy this is my first Honda and this has been a fun ride. I did not know about the fuel relays until recently so yeah ha.I guess then denso will work. what bugs me is they put in a gauge unit in trunk but not access to pump.

Honda fuel pumps RARELY go bad. In 20 years of working on them, I’ve replaced 3. 2 of those were aftermarket. A more common issue is the main relay. I’d suggest you start there first before replacing the fuel pump.

Good luck and keep us posted.

BTW Denso or OE would be the only replacements I would consider.
