      so i have a 93 accord, 2.2 10th anniversary and i am having a small issue.

when i turn the ignition on i hear the fuel pump, and i crank the car, usually doesnt start right away, it requires me to turn it off, a and crank it again and it starts right up.

idles fine, but between 1000-2500 rpms its literally like reving a car and then shutting the ignition off when you hit the gas…..UNlESS you barely touch the gas let it “drop” and come back up slowly with a sputter. between 2500-4000 it seems like it struggles, like its sucking in to much air.

i do know if you dont let off the gas when it does this (cold or hot) it will just straight cut off, like ignition, or fuel was removed, but let off the gas and goes back and it idles fine….

new plugs, wires, rotor, cleaned dist-cap(looks fine) . cleaned FITV and IACV, which fixed the idle surging, and has ultimately helped the car start better, initially it took a good 1-3 minutes of on and off cranking to get it to start.

i dont know if a MAP sensor would cause this, and i have looked for some answers on here but just cant find much..

i will be checking for codes tomorrow, no vacuum leaks, idles good (seems like an occasional misfire).

if anyone could remotely point me in the right direction here, that would be awesome

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

the pressure seems fine, with the “non gauge” method as posted here.

is there a way to check the spark quality? i remember my grandpa showing me once the spark was to be blue, if it was yellow or wouldn’t jump a decent gap to replace the coil.
