Greetings to you all! We have a 1993 Ford Laser (known as a Ford Escort in the States) 1.8L 5 speed manual 4 wheel disc brakes, changed rear disc brake pads yesterday and now the park brake doesn’t engage, tried adjusting the parking brake near the calipers on both sides but no luck. The parking brake did work before we changed the rear pads, but you would have to pull the lever a fair way up before it would engage. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

If its a center console handle there is an adjustment under the handle.
not sure if the console has to come out.All sorted now, just adjusted the ratchet mechanism in the calipers by unhooking the cable from the lever on the calipers and adjusting it by hand. Thanks for the help anyway!
