I have a 92′ integra ls with 210k miles on the body. I dont have any service records on the vehical, and short of asking honda themselves i probably will have no history on the car. Im assuming that the engine and trans have the same miles on them, and the car runs great, no slippage or shift problems, however i just moved into the NY mountain. Lots o hills. Since the engine has to operate at higher temps, as well as the transmission, should i go ahead and flush the transmission and replace fluids, or should i keep the ‘if it aint broke dont fix it’ method? Also, im sure some people would like to know the proper way to do this.
Thanks, sorry for grammer/spelling, im posting from my phone.

I would post this question in the correct section as this is the maintenance section, not service and repair. You will receive more views and replies that way.

Since your title says it’s a manual transmission, all you can do is drain the fluid and then refill it. Transmission flushes (which to me means hooking a machine to it and pushing a button) can only be done on automatics, as all the machines I’ve ever used have been the kind that gets plumbed inline with the trans cooler lines. Manual transmissions don’t have coolers, therefore a machine can’t be hooked to them to pull the old fluid out while simultaneously pumping fresh fluid in.

On your car, there is a fill plug part way up the side of the transmission (I’m not sure exactly where) and a drain plug on the bottom. Remove the fill plug first, then remove the drain plug. Once the fluid stops draining, add fluid to the transmission until it’s at the bottom of the fill hole. Your transmission uses 10w30 or 10w40 motor oil, and should take right about 2 and a half quarts. Honda recommends changing the fluid every 30k miles.

Yep, I would flush it. Honda says 30K miles, but when I drained it at 30K, the fluid quality was very good. So now I do it at around 60K miles. make sure to use Honda MTF, some people used redline and ran into problems.
