This is question for Eric since he is Honda/Acura expert.
I have one 92 Acura Integra with 240K mile already. I usually do my oil change every 3-4K miles, for 15+ years. Before, I can get about 3 qt old oil when I do oil change. Now, I discovered I need to add 3/4 qt at 2K mark. By the time I do my oil changes at 3-4k, I would still get about 3 qt oil left. In other word, my 92 integra is burning about 1.75 qt oil for 4K mile. I fixed oil leak thru one of overhead cam shaft, and could not find oil leak thru engine block. Engine still runs good.
I noticed this model of car does not have EGR valve, and exhaust gas is directly feed into air intake. Is this why is burning some oil? Do you recommend using thicker oil like 20-50 for this old car?
Thanks.
