      hey guys

      we got a 92 f150 5L with dual tanks.

we put a new pump in the front tank.put 6 gallons in it.and it read empty and wouldnt run. the new pump matched the old pump, but now the 6 gallons of fuel is gone.or we think you bang on the tank it sounds hollow.

you can hear fuel in the real tank but we put 6-7 gallons in the rear tank.and its only reading 1/8th of a tank.plus we thing somehow the gas out the front tank went into the rear.

also it will run on the front tank but its empty.

      im so lost on this.

      any help would be great

usually there are tank to tank solenoids that tie the tanks together. Also there are in cabin
switches to switch tanks. Your gonna have to check if the solenoids are staying energized
or not. You could also have solenoids/valves not holding from tank to tank.

do you have the correct pump installed. there is a 19 gal pump and a 16 gal pump? front is 19 and rear can be 16 or 19

check valves in the fuel pumps were bad. replace both now everything is good
