Hi peeps, I’m in need of some enlightenment on some issues with my Celica GT. The car is making a couple of noises and I have no idea what’s causing them. Here’s the noises that I can remember:

-The wheels are making a scraping noise when driving forward normally, it lessens when turning right and gets worse when turning left I believe, same deal with the passenger side. Rear wheels make no noise whatsoever (I think). (brakes replaced less than 50mi ago)
-A “clank” noise when hitting bumps, I believe both the driver side and passenger side make the noise
-A repeating “clank/click” when turning the steering wheel, (CV Axles replaced less than 50mi ago)

Those are the noises I can recall from the top of my head, I highly appreciate any advice and/or solutions you guys have.

Little bonus pic, the rear engine mount I replaced recently:

Scraping while driving: check your wheel bearings/ hub assemblies.
Cranking while turning: inspect your steering column/rack & pinion, inner tie rods, or outer tie rods.
Bumps: could be the dampers going bad on your suspension mounts – macpherson struts sometimes do that…

Thanks for the info on what I can look for. The last guy reply before yoy was pretty useless, since that’s pretty much the first thing I read before posting.

I believe I didn’t bleed the brakes correctly when I removed the rear calipers and attempted to bleed the system poor man style. Before then the brakes were absolutely fine. The cracking when turning ended up being ball joints. I already have purchased parts to almost redo each side. Tie rods and all. I’ll do wheel bearings eventually, since there is play in them.

College man is highly intelligent – I wouldn’t check him off too quickly. 🙂
If you get moaning or groaning while driving down the road, make sure your kid has a trash can to throw up in, or if you think the moaning is coming from your car, suspect the wheel bearings.
