Wanting to fix the a/c for good defrost. I got this light set

It seems nice and bright much better than a single led. I got a small can of oil with leak die in it very similar to this.

Then charged with something like this.like this.

The car had fittings for r134 already. This car used to take r12 right? I made sure what I put in was r12 compatible.

The ac worked the fans kicked on when I turn it on. So what I did:

I ran it a bit checked for leak did not find any.

Came back every day for a few days. It worked no leaks.

Then after like a week the fans did not kick on no cold air. Looked for leaks did not see any.

added more filled it up again until it kicked on. It worked again. There is a leak.

Because I cant find the leak I think it could be the thing in the dash, the ac lines under the insulation, the condenser between fins, or I did not add enough or right leak die.

can you remove ac line insulation and put it back?
is there easy way to check the part in the dash?
Did I mess up with the leak die stuff?
      Inputs welcome.

      Thanks

Honestly I don’t feel AC work is for the DIY. There are many aspects that require an advanced skill set and tools. I have however covered this issue, as well as others, in this article I wrote.

I’m sure there’s information in there that can help you.

Good luck and keep us posted.
