This is a close-up of where the harmonic balancer pulley, fits on the end of the crankshaft. The image is blown way up, I didn’t do it with a macro, so it’s a bit blurry. There a bit of grease hiding some of it too. Either way it’s not looking great. The harmonic balancer doesn’t wiggle in any way. I will have to lower the engine to get it all the way off…..but I see some real issues here. I have to get at the water pump. It’s leaking…… Looks like the woodruff key has moved a little.

How do I get it off. Any other thought about the woodruff key would be helpful.

Sorry not sure what the TEG is. Will you send a goold pic of a normleone if you can find and what would be the normal way etc. Example crank bolt removal, and puller etc…

I tried to clean it. It’s not grease, it’s epoxy.

In a well ventilated area, can you put acetone on it and possibly heat it up some while scraping? Exp. hairdryer.

This is very hard to get to. The curve at the top of the photo is the wheel well, and only 1-1/2″ between the two. I’ll have to drop the engine a couple inches to get this off. I ordered a jaw puller. I think I’m just going to try and yank it off.

Why does the key way in the crankshaft look enlarged? It should be the same size and shape as the key.

Most likely, they lost the key and put what ever they could find in there, or it wasn’t torqued correctly and got loose.

Those are the only two reasons I can think of.
