88 Acura Integra Cold Start Problem

My 88 Acura Integra starts great when it’s cold (40deg F ) but when I press the gas pedal to go, it instantly quits. If I restsrt it and let it run until it’s warmed up it runs fine. That takes about 10 – 15 minutes.
What could cause that?

Thanks for the reply;
The Acura RPM starts out at about 2000 RPM cold, and gradually (10 minutes later) down to 700 RPM.
The RPM is steady if I don’t press the throttle.
When it reaches 1000 or less , then I can use the throttle.
