thanks for the answer, and you may be right. It is cold here in Oregon. But….the car had started normally a few minutes before and was warmed up, but then nada. Funny though, it was acting like no fuel was getting to the intake. Might do Eric’s fix – might get a relay from the j-yard.
The relay is only an issue on fuel injected engines and on your model there really wasn’t a problem with that. It’s more likely you have a carburetion problem, the easiest thing to check for is for vacuum leaks particularly at the base gasket, other than that it could be an issue with the carburetor itself and there are too many possibilities to list.
