I had the 1987 Accord i can assure you that mine didn’t have it and with a 90% certainty i can say you car doesn’t have one.

The crank no start issue does it happen on hold or cold days?
Cause my car did the same thing on hot days.

My car had the A20A4 engine which was PGM-FI type you either have the A20A1 or the A20A2, and i am guessing it is the A20A1 version.

thanks for the answer, and you may be right. It is cold here in Oregon. But….the car had started normally a few minutes before and was warmed up, but then nada. Funny though, it was acting like no fuel was getting to the intake. Might do Eric’s fix – might get a relay from the j-yard.

Just fix it, the ones from the junkyard will be like yours with the solder issue

The relay is only an issue on fuel injected engines and on your model there really wasn’t a problem with that. It’s more likely you have a carburetion problem, the easiest thing to check for is for vacuum leaks particularly at the base gasket, other than that it could be an issue with the carburetor itself and there are too many possibilities to list. Here is a link to a video on checking for vacuum leaks.
