      these rubber donuts keep cracking a generally last a few months.can i use some ss hose clamps in place of the rubber ones?
      will the hose clamps give the muffler enough play?

        Metal seems stronger than rubber, but movement and vibration will fatigue metal quickly and it just breaks. I think you should try another supplier for those rubber rings. Make sure the exhaust system is supported properly and check to see if your motor mounts are intact.

            Have you been replacing it with Mercedes exhaust hanger? They lasts about 100K miles.

              I could not have said it better myself.

              I also agree that it might be the quality of the hangers you’re using but if there is some other issue causing them to wear prematurely such as it not being mounted correctly you want to address that first.
