We got this Van at Auction several years back. The Sheriff used it to tow their boat to Lake Camanche., it was their search and rescue vehicle.
We rebuilt it and named it the Beast, it’s been good to us.
The Front Axle Ujoints were bad, you know General Motors put joints on with no zerk fittings, but they lasted lots of years ~Quite a time removing the bearing caps from the axle yokes.
Found the Spicer # R 255 Couldn’t find that number in any of my books and Spicer could tell me nothing about it. No such number in their memory.
I measured the bearing cap yoke bore and the yoke spread and picked up Ujoints from Napa. When Installing them I noticed: MADE IN MEXICO~ That kinda Teed me off.
Put it back together, the WARN HUBS are still in pretty good shape.

We are at 6800 ft and get snow like you can’t believe~This van has gotten us through the deepest snows the Sierras have to offer!
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–When I test drove the Beast it felt like new, tight as you’d want it.
I’ll have to find out how to post photos.
