Well, I figured I’d make a thread on my lil Vw rabbit project.
It has 88,900 original miles on it, It has all new adjustable shocks and eurosport strut braces. It came with aftermarket wheels and tire but i did not really like them so i put the stock ones on it that came with it. The guy who had it before kinda made it a rat style rabbit meaning it’s in great mechanical shape but the body had surface rust and need the carpet, dash and head liner replaced.
I will post some links time to time on a image hosting site and maybe some youtube videos.

                I am so jealous…..

I don’t have time nor room for another project vehicle at the moment.

                Keep the pictures coming, Sir!

I sold all my projects sadly. My last one was a 90 Mustang GT. I sold it for a few reasons, one being for garage space so i could service more vehicles at home.

For my next project, whenever that will be, id like something totally different then what I’m used to. I actually wouldn’t mind one of those old school Beetles.

I’m also a huge fan of the Volvo 200 series vehicles too.

I have always been into vw’s, most of the ones me and my dad have owned we’re air cooled bugs/beetles and karmann ghia’s.
This is my first water cooled and diesel vw.

                        Thanks!
I know a bit. That is another reason why I wanted one so i could learn a lot more about diesel.
I will also be buying a vw diesel timing tool set cause everything on this has to be lined up and locked in place perfect before you can remove the T belt, and you
also have to time the injection pump with a dial indicator and a special adaptor that comes with the set.
Much different but I love learning new things.T)
Money is tight right now so there might not be much of an update for awhile but every time I do something interesting to it I will take a few pics and post ’em.
Hopefully next pics you’ll see I’ll have all the doors and rear hatch off for body work.

Thats a nice car, my cousin had a few of them, they are badged golf but they are the same 1.6 diesel i think.
                          Is the front bumper original?

Keep us updated. I am sure we all will learn something new from this project. I am clueless on diesels unfortunately so i wont be able to offer any help.

pug406 Yes the front bumper is original.

Dreamer I will keep you guys updated every time i do something to it, and I hope we all learn something.
Most of the work it needs is body work but I will also be doing some electrical work, and engine work as it needs it.

That is the worst spot on the car, there is just a couple very small holes here and there the rest is just surface rust that comes off with some 80 grit in a few minutes.
