On ’73 – ’87 Chevy Trucks ’73 – ’91 Suburban, Blazer, and Jimmys they have a problematic steering gear and frame. 9 out of 10 times, if power steering fluid is leaking on these vehicles, it’s a steering gear seal. The gear also often comes loose from the frame causing excessive steering slack and alignment issues. The frame is also notorious for flexing and cracking under the geer.
but if you don’t like these than others are available from different companies. Sometimes the bolts on the back can just be tightened if there is no damage, but that may still require an alignment.
