      Sup guys!
      I just got a 66 c10 chevy truck with a 400.
The truck is 100 rust free..
The only thing the truck needs is a wiring harness – the wooden part of the bed put back in – new paint_the paint on the truck now has a few scratchs but nothing bad.
I looked around and found a updated wiring harness from summet for 500$
As clean as the truck is even a fool can see its worth sinking some money into.

I got it from a 20 year old kid I know. He is leaving the very day he turns 21 for iraq or some place like that.
He has been restoring the truck since he was 15. Now he is leaving and cant take it with him and since i was his closest friend he handed me the keys as a gift and asked that i finish what he started – all he asked for in return was if i ever sell the truck to split the money with him…
Right now i have the money to get a wiring harness but id like to verafie the engine is ready to go.
(ENGINE IS SUPPOSE TO BE FULLY REBUILT WITH ALL PROFORMACE PARTS)

Sorry for the wierd format of this im using my cell to post this….
        Anyway…
Iv pulled all the spark plugs spryed 10/30 in all the cylenders – let it set for a day – next day i used a braker bar and spon the engine over until each cylender went threw every stroke 10 times – then i changed the oil and filter and with the spark plugs out i ran A wire from the battery to the starter and cracked over the engine for like 30 secs at a time for 15mins.
(i figured this would reoil the engine and blow the oil out of the cylenders) -the next day i ran a compression check and got 210 on all cylenders – next i hooked up a after market oil gauge and cranked on the engine until i seen oil psi start to build (it got to around 30 psi) with 10/30 oil…..
So far everything is checking out in my book. Next i would like to fire this thing. My dad use to start engines on engine stands all the time when i was a kid- soo i wanna bypass/ unhook everything from the engine and wire it up to a battery and try to fire it up.

Sooo i wanna fire this like it was on a engine stand but leave it in the truck…
Can anyone give me the rundown on the way to do this……
If i rember right… I run a hot wire to the hot side of the coil – run a neg wire from the battery to the neg side of the coil. A starter cable – long enf to be touched to the battery to start the engine. – a neg cable leaving the battery going to a block. And of corse fuel. Soo do i have this pretty much down???

          Has anyone done this before?
How did u do it and what did u do?
What gauge wire did u use? Thanks guys. Please reply soon this means alote to me….. Thanks again.
