      I cant find any distilled water at my local stores. They do have purified water. Is it ok to use purified water to do a 50/50 mix?

        You should be able to find distilled water at your local drug store or supermarket. I run my dehumidifier all summer because of the humidity where I live. I save the water I collect in cleaned out plastic milk gallon containers to reuse the water in the winter in the humidifier. I also use the water I collect to mix with antifreeze because I buy the 100% containers and then mix it to 50/50.

          as suggested try the local drug store.when you read the label
          make sure it says steam distilled.

            I’ve seen them at Walmart. That said I hate to admit this but I’ve been using tap water for years (even at the dealer) without incident. Of corse using distilled water is always best.
