4X4 not engaging

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat crew cab 5.4 L. This summer when I would engaged the 4X4 I would hear some light grinding before it engaged but this week I tried to put it in 4 wheel drive but nothing happened, no 4 wheel drive only 2 wheel drive. I didn’t try 4 low… I have an electronic selector.
What could be my problem :S And also is it DIY ??

There are many things in that system that can go wrong. The above video is pretty good and should get you started.

Thanks for the great video…My trouble shooting stopped at the first step of the video as I did NOT get any vacuum when I unpluged thoe vacuum lines from the 4X4 solenoid. I read a little more and watch more videos and someone mention Vacuum Reservoir might have a hole or leak…Where can I find the reservoir and also where the vacuum come from??
