Hello all. I just rebuilt the 4L60E in my 1993 Silverado 1500, but I have an issue. I replaced both the shift solenoids when I did the rebuild, but it will not shift past 2nd gear. I acts like it wants to shift into 3rd, but it just free wheels when it gets to the shift point! Any ideas or suggestions? I would appreciate any advice!

Did you check the valve body with compressed air to make sure that the clutches would engage after you rebuilt the transmission? You may have a sticking ball, or put something in the wrong spot.

Hi I am looking at a neighbors 95 S10 blazer 4.3, 4L60E trans, w/115k miles. It sat for about 2 years in a garage, and has been back on the road about a year. The complaint was lurch/hesitation/no power under acceleration. This was primarilly noticed with the gear shift in OD. When placed in D not so much. My trusty snapon computer found the trans is running through all 4 gears before 25MPH. Talking with friends the general consensus is the TCC solinoid is stuck on. This also agrees with the troubleshooting section of the GM manual for this trans. The closest condition/symptom is fast shift. Before I go pulling things apart does any one have anything else I should check?
