I am finally swapping my water pump on my 08 Buick Lacrosse and a 3800 series 3. I have it out, not a big deal, but the bolts look to have thread locker on them and the 4 larger bolts go through the water jacket and seem to have sealant on them. I know from working on my caravan I had that if they go through the water jacket on those, that you put ptfe on it.
Should clean up all the gunk off the bolts and use thread locker on the small 10mm bolts and ptfe on the 13mm bolts? just some on the ends or the whole threads?
Just don’t feel like doing the job twice.
Thanks,
Ed
