I’ve been a little less active here lately partially because I’ve been on a large car project for a couple weeks now and spending a lot of internet time on model-specific forums for my car. I’ve had a 91 Jetta for 16 years, and I spent my early 20’s building it from 2000-2005. It’s been the same car for 11 years now and I just drive the hell out of it once in a while and then put it back in the garage under cover. After all this time, I’ve become re-interested in the car and gotten myself involved a substantial project.

The Engine wiring harness will be re-engineered and replaced with a custom-built aerospace grade Raychem harness. Other parts being installed while the powertrain is pulled from the car include a close ration transmission, 5 trap door oil pad with increased capacity, my 3rd and final full race engine mount, heim joint/rod end aftermarket shift linkage, brake cooling ducts, and a few other bits. The project will drag out till at least July.

If this sounds of any interest, you can follow it over at the VwVortex Forums:
