Any GM techs know of a TSB for this?
My co-worker bought a new 2016 Chevy Malibu Limited, and they have had it into the dealer seven times and a total of over a month in time for issues with the stop/start feature. The intermitent problem is when driving and coming to a stop, the engine stops as expected (with the stop/start technology), but then the entire vehicle shuts down (loss of all electrical power?) and won’t restart unless it is put back in park and the ignition cycled to re-start the vehicle.
The dealer has changed out many components and problem persists.
Is this an unusual problem or more of a pattern problem?

Today, my co-worker told me they want to work a deal to replace the car? I have not heard the details, but my co-worker paid for the car out of pocket and wants the dealer to cover any tax, title and fees because they already paid them on the problem vehicle?

Did not find a lot on this problem other than people saying the car never shuts off.

I’ll post a follow up when I hear more.
So far it sounds like the dealer is going to take care of it, getting the owner a new car, but it has not happened yet?

On the diagnostic side, I was told they got a few codes pointing to the braking system?
