I have a 2013 Scion tC with 166,000 miles or so on it and my engine is having stalling issues. To elaborate: while im driving the car, if I come to a stop sign or a red light, when I let off of the gas to apply the brakes, the engine will either completely shut off or idle low (around 400 – 500 rpm) the oil light will also illuminate briefly before the engine stalls. I have tried hitting the gas pedal to keep it from cutting off and when i can hit the gas quick enough to get the engine to rev back up, it makes a knocking/tapping like noise. I have googled this to no avail. I’ve replaced the spark plugs and coil packs, MAF sensor, oil pressure switch, and oxygen sensors. Anyone have any advice on where to go next?
