Yesterday my parents car got this code.
I pulled the code using torque app and it informed me Intake runner control circuit open.
A bit of research it said the common faults are wiring, contamination from the EGR valve and the intake control solenoid.

Has anyone else gotten this code and how would I go about diagnosing the faulty part and fixing it.

I’d start with circuit testing: http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd/DownloadPdf?id=176979 That’ll get you started if you know what you’re doing with a voltmeter. Start at the solenoid in question on the circuit. There’s a chance the solenoid itself is bad.

You can get more wiring diagrams here: http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd . Just plug in your make, model, and the year. That’ll get you factory wiring diagrams.

The code is a general code for an intake runner failure. I was able to dig this up that might help.

I also made this video a while back explaining how they work.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Saw that video a while back and explained what the code meant to my parents.

Is there any live data that i can capture to see if the solenoid is sticking or is faulty?

I found the solenoid or the control module hard to tell what it was as it was cramped, disconnected the electrical connector, gave it a gentle blow, reconnected.
The light is off for now where as it was on all the time before.

Could be an intermittent issue, could have just been a connector that became a little loose.
              Too early to tell.

                Code is back.

The car just pulled out of a car park and started accelerating at the time still in 1st auto gear

I was in the passenger seat at the time and the best way i can describe it is.
Normal acceleration noise, then a dip on engine noise. and power, then feels normal again, but was not a up-shift by the tranny.
                And it happened with 2seconds
