I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla CE, 1.8L from Canada. For the last couple months, often after I’ve started it, it starts sputtering. Almost like a hiccup. I have no problem getting it started. It’s once its running that it sounds almost like it wants to die. Once I get driving it, it works great and doesn’t make anymore mysterious noises. Any ideas what the problem could be?

When is the last time you had a tune up?
I.E. new Air filter and plugs…
May also be MAF related.

Does it sputter on the first cold start of the day, or can you repeat the symptom with every start up?
