Impala has 140K Miles on the clock. new tires today and to no ones surprise the outer tie rods need replacement as well as one of the hub bearings before I can get it aligned. I am changing both bearings since I’m sure the other one isn’t too great. I am also changing the stabilizer bar links. I was thinking of changing the lower control arms (ball joints) . It will add about $150 to the job but I would hate to get 10 thousand miles down the road and have to get another alignment when one goes bad.
also – they sell just the ball joint that you have to grind rivets out to bolt the new one in. Some of the reviews for the delco control arms are not so good. (chinese made crap). so I was thinking of going the grind out method to get a beefier Moog ball joint. Or could anyone recommend a better control arm? Rock auto has quite a few different ones.
