So my sister’s car is trying to kill itself again. On deceleration, the engine sputters out, it actually died as she was pulling into her driveway this evening. So I went and had a look, no codes. I managed to duplicate it while stationary, as after you have it reved up, as the rpms come down, it’s almost like it’s not settling back down at idle speed and dropping lower.
I did a quick look around the internets and the best plausible explanation would be a dirty throttle body. Just wondering if there’s anything else worth trying to look at before it gets shipped out somewhere.
In case it’s relevant, this is the 2.4 ‘world engine’ that’s in several Kia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Dodge products.
