This is an OEM alarm which has been working normal for a year, when it started ARMING itself with the doors closed and key out of ignition. We are close to the car when this occurs. I have not changed any settings. What could be causing this?

Thanks I’ll check into it. The alarm now arms itself then activates the horn. I checked the key batt: cleaned the connections and dust. Better button action now, but still acting-up.

I got the operating instructions booklet and, using the key, went from Manual to Automatic mode, then back. At one point, I managed to disable the Control Unit with the key method, then re enabled it. So far no problems!!!

I guess the wife slide the KEYS in and out too many times, at some point…or just like our home computers, you need to restart. So far so good.
Keep us posted on your progress. ;)
🙁 Oh well it’s back! I disconnected the harness from the Security System Control Unit that I installed and, with the key transmitter, locked/unlocked the car when it auto-locked again in 29 seconds without the harness, lamp indicator, and control unit affecting it. The car’s wiring shows a Keyless Receiving Unit that talks to Passenger Muiltiplex Unit that sends the commands to everything. I’ll start looking there.

I isolated the problem between the wiring and Key-less Receiver Unit. A short in the wiring is possible, but this auto arming issue occurs only when I arm/disarm the security system, with the key transmitter, and all doors closed; however, when I arm/disarm the system then open/close a door, it does not act up. I am focusing on the Key-less Receiver because I sense this trouble is following computer logic rather than a random short. Remember I cleaned the key’s transmitter and checked the battery. What do you think?

I appreciate your help College Man! My model doesn’t have the hood sensor. No I haven’t changed any locks or actuators.
