2008 ford f150 with 5.4

after my 2004 chevy silverado locked up im in the market for a new truck not really interested in any gm products. i was wondering is the ford 5.4 known for being a good engine and are f150s good trucks? love to here some feedback.

I owned 2 5.4l and my personal experience was they were great. I did not own either over 4 years however. Plenty of power but I did not like the mileage I was getting. I guess a van and truck not good examples. I frequently pulled a 4000+ lb boat without a sweat. I imagine Ford will be bringing it back after they rework it to bring it up to the new EPA stuff. I sure hope they don’t ruin it with EcoBoost.
