      Hey everyone,

I got a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L AC Problem. Seems to be no cold air comes out. Refrigerant is where it needs to be, checked the fuses/relays everything is fine. I noticed that the ac compressor clutch does not engage and after taking it for a few drives arounds I noticed when the fans are cranked and my engine is warm my radiator fans still don’t kick on either. I thought it might be the radiator fan relay but not quite sure. Any suggestions where else to look at to see why my ac wont shoot any cold air?

      Thanks

If your A/C compressor is not engaging then that’s where I would start. Check to see if you have good power and ground at the connector when you are commanding A/C on. If so you have a bad clutch. If not you will have to investigate further why. Are you sure your refrigerant is good. Have you checked it with a good set of gauges?

personally I would start with the fan and get that working… then go onto the ac…. you can run the car without ac but you cant run a over heating car,,, and the fan would be easyer to diag and fix…. on a few cars the fan has to be able to work in order for the ac to kick on…. you can hot wire the ac on to see if it works and the fan too… but if the fan is cracked then even if you hot wire it you still will have to replace it… so I would start out with replacing it first and diag it if needed

Is the refrigerant bubbling a lot? Boiling?

The weird thing is that no matter if I took a far drive the engine never overheated even with no fan kicking on. The system seems to stay where it needs to for temp but still nothing kicking on from fan to ac compressor clutch engaging. I’ve jumped the fan and has no issues spinning when i feed it direct power.
