Ok I have a 2007 pilot that i keep running quite well. It started a almost humming/whining sound at idle that seems to stop at 20mph. Dealer suspected the cable reel on steering column cause it was making noises in the cab when when i turned the wheel. They replaced it and the whining sound went away immediately. Now the sound is back. It sounds like bad steering pump or alternator. Alternator charges fine and test come back fine on it. No added whine when I turn the steering wheel. Anybody else hear of this on Hondas? 133000 miles on it. Factory alternator and pump. I just do not believe the cable reel would have any affect on vehicle that would cause steering/alternator whining sounds.
