I am shopping for new tires for my 2007 Honda Accord. I am shopping for a tire that has more than 70,000 mile warranty. So far the Good year assurance comfort, and triple tread fit the bill. I really like the Michelin Defender but Michelin says they dont make one for my car.
My question is Michelin says on their website that they do not make the defender to fit my car. On Tire Rack’s website it shows they have it in my tire size. Why wouldn’t the tire fit my car? My tire size is 205/60R16. If i buy the tire am I risking them not fitting on the rim if Michelin does not recommend them? I appreciate all advice.

the best I come up with is the speed rating.I believe your
original was a v rating.the tires you want are t rated. thats
why they say they will not work.I would not focus on the mileage you get out of a tire. High mileage tires are often bad before the tread wears out. The reason is that the tire will loose traction after a while. The cause of this is the heat cycles a tire goes through in it’s lifetime, the more of these heat cycles the tire goes through the harder the rubber gets so in the end you end up with a tire that still has tread but little to no traction because it’s no longer pliable.
Honda’s are VERY picky about the tires that you put on them and the list of tires that actually work on Honda’s is pretty short with Michelin at the top of that list. I think the Defender will FIT on your vehicle however it’s handling characteristics aren’t suited for your vehicle. Perhaps if you looked for a lower mileage tire you’d find something to work on your application.
