      lately the seat belt light comes on for awhile then goes out a week or so lateer? i know it canbe a ton of things. whats the easy things to check.also i have a

        I don’t think that’s a problem for any state inspection as long as the seat belts themselves work. Though I don’t know for sure about TX.

        I would recommend removing the bulb in the instrument panel and forgetting about it (just remember to use your seat belt).

        It’s likely a bad weight sensor switch. I don’t know anything about how they work on this car, but if you can find them and test them with an ohm meter I bet you’ll find one is busted. You could “fix” the problem by cutting out the sensor from the system. Depending on how the switches work either just cut it, or cut it and connect the two wires together.
        I guess if your really wanted you could just replace the busted switch, but that’s just going to fail down the road and will cost more than $0.

          +1 on the possibility of a switch issue. I would recommend researching on how the seat belt light actually works on that Focus along with some wiring diagrams and that should help you diagnose the issue.

            I have to ask if this seat belt light is the red one or the amber one?

              You may want to check with the dealer or manufacturer, many companies offer lifetime waranty on seat belts so if it’s someting with a seat belt you might be able to get it repaired for free. I feel it needs to be said that you need to find out if the problem is related to the seat belt first however, it could be something else in the system that’s setting the code, if that is the case you may not be able to get it fixed under warranty.

                is out after setting front seats to full upright.read it resets then to set seat were u want it while car is off?/so is working at this point even tho shouldnt be this way
