I’m working on a 2007 Ford Focus with an auto transmission. When driving straight on a smooth road, the car drives very well. But, when the car goes over a bump or makes a right or left turn, the front end makes a creaking/squeaking/grinding noise. It sounds like two rusty pieces of metal are rubbing against each other. I raised the car and checked the play on the front wheels and they seemed tight. I think the Focus is known for its front suspension problems, so maybe this is a CV axle issue or a strut issue? I’m trying to narrow down the possible issues. Thanks for your help!
