      So bought a set of lift gate supports for my mother’s santa fe. Parts store gave me a set that were made for the car but I’m unable to get the top ball joint to slide into the fitting. Lower fits fine. Length is exact. Is there a trick to getting the upper to pop on there? Tried a pair of slip joint plies but had no luck

        Is the retainer clip in place on the gas spring preventing the the mount to fully seat?
        Either that or the mount size is incorrect for your make and model

          I removed the locking clip, I researched the model and these are for all 2001 to 2006 models (mine has a build date of 6/2005)

            Suggest you compare the replacements with the originals to make sure the mounts are the same.
            Any gas spring I’ve installed only required hand pressure to get it to snap on the mount ball once the retainer was removed.
