Hello there!
I got an offer of an ’06 Mini Cooper S, is in pretty good state, body is good, no rust, is well equipped, the engine sounds good, no leaks, no hesitation. The part than I’m worried about is the transmission though. Went for a test drive and the first thing I noticed was that when you take it out of neutral or park, the car “jumps” in the direction of the gear you select, i.e. “jumps” forward if you put it in Drive, or backwards if you put it in Reverse. You have to hold it with the brakes pretty hard so it doesn’t roll. So the question is: what could be causing this? is it an easy fix? if you were me, would you buy it considering that issue?
PS: here in my country (Chile) automatic transmissions are not as common as in the US, and I’ve never owned an automatic so bare with me here please 🙂
Thanks!
