I recently replaced the map light on the driver’s side on my 2006 Honda Pilot after it blew out. Now for some reason it seems that the light comes on only when I push it on, but does not go on simultaneously along with the other dome lights when I open the door or remove the key from the ignition. However all the other lights come on.
I did some research and asked around on my Facebook group for Honda Pilot owners and it appears that many people have been having this issue. Some people claim it to be an issue with the mechanism on the door, others have found it to be an issue with the light contacts being contaminated. People suggested these could be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.
The other thing I saw which I am more prone to believing is the case is that the ground connection for the lights is bad. Since I’m really not in the position to be spending $100+ getting this diagnosed nor do I wanna just guess I figured I’d ask people on here if anybody has experienced this issue before? If so what suggestions do you have?
