      Recently replaced front rotors and pads on 2006 Honda Civic LX.

        I don’t know the right answer here. You could take a chance and replace the pads and not have a problem.
        on the other hand it could be a problem. my suggestion is to leave the pads where they are and make a note
        somewhere. then the next brake job will need to be done 5,000 earlier.C8-)

          Welcome to the forums. I would put the new pads on . since honda recommends ” not ” turning rotors that don’t have any obvious damage your 7.000 mile rotor should be just fine. also FYI – you will get a lot more responses if you post your repair based questions in the service and repair section of the the forum.

            There won’t be any problems with putting new bads on an old rotor as long as the rotor is good (no deep grooves, pitting, etc.). My concern is that one side will have a new set of pads and the other will not. You just need to remember that so you aren’t just checking the side with the newer pad thinking your brakes are fine only to end up chewing up a rotor on the other side.

              There is no problem in doing it that way, you will be fine
