2006 Grand Prix rough idle

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 liter. Idles really rough. You can’t really feel it driving or braking until you get down real slow when coming to a stop. You can feel it most at idle. With the car in park; looking at the motor; you can see it shaking real good. What could this be?

It could be a vacuum leak somewhere on the engine.

It also might be a dirty EGR valve or a clogged EGR valve passage. I had a similar problem with a 1999 3.1 engine. The engine would run fine when traveling down the road, but it would run rough at idle. I cleaned the EGR valve and cleaned the EGR valve passage, and that fixed the idle problem.

If there is no lack of power I would be looking for a vacuum leak. Does it have a MIL light on?
